At 9:30 AM EDT, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff and Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland will hold a virtual event to announce 16 new listings on the National Park Service’s National Underground Railroad Network (UGRR) to Freedom Program. The new listings join more than 670 sites in 39 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands already in the Network, each of which provides insight into the diverse experiences of freedom seekers who bravely escaped slavery.

This session will highlight the critical role of technological innovation in achieving a net-zero, climate-resilient economy; the importance of accelerating public and private investment in climate innovation; and the enormous economic opportunities in building the industries of the future.

This session will highlight the broad economic benefits of climate action, with a strong focus on job creation. It will explore the economic benefits of green recovery and long-term decarbonization and the importance of ensuring that all communities and workers benefit from the clean-energy transition.

In the afternoon, President Biden will receive the Weekly Economic Briefing in the White House Oval Office.
 

Later, President Biden will participate in a virtual U.S. Department of Defense Senior Leaders Conference in the White House Situation Room.
 

 

VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA DEVI HARRIS ~ FRIDAY, APRIL 23  

At 9:25 AM EDT, Vice President Kamala Devi Harris will travel to Plymouth and Concord, New Hampshire. Vice President Harris will depart from Joint Base Andrews and arrive at Laconia Municipal Airport.
 

At 11:55 AM EDT, Vice President Harris will hold a listening session on the American Jobs Plan’s investments in broadband at New Hampshire Electric Cooperative in Plymouth.
 

At 2:00 PM EDT, Vice President Harris will take a tour of IBEW Local 490 with apprentices and staff in Concord.
 

At 2:40 PM EDT, Vice President Harris will present remarks on the American Jobs Plan’s investments in workforce development and infrastructure.
 

At 4:45 PM EDT, Vice President Harris will depart New Hampshire en route Washington, DC. Vice President Harris will depart from Laconia Municipal Airport.
