Vice President Harris Hosts a White House Roundtable on Black Women’s Maternal Health

WASHINGTON DC - In the afternoon on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, Vice President Kamala Devi Harris of the United States of America held a heart-breaking roundtable on Black Maternal Health with women who shared their experiences with complications from pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and Fibroids, which are abnormal growths that develop in or on a woman's uterus. Sometimes these tumors become quite large and cause severe abdominal pain and heavy periods. In other cases, they cause no signs or symptoms at all. The growths are typically benign, or noncancerous. The cause of fibroids is unknown.
The participants actively work in advocacy and research, highlighting the disparities that Black women face in maternal health.
Domestic Policy Advisor Susan Rice also participated at 12:30 PM EDT heart-breaking discussion.

President Biden will present a plan on the way froward in Afghanistan, which will include a timeline for withdrawing U.S. Troops in the White HOuse Treaty Room of Washington, DC at 2:15 PM.
Later in the evening, President Biden will visit Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia of the United States of America, to pay his respects to the brave service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in America’s most recent conflicts at 3:05 PM.
