THE FIRST LADY TO ALASKA, JAPAN, AND HAWAII: WEDNESDAY, JULY 21 – SUNDAY, JULY 25, 2021

First Lady Jill Biden is leading the U.S. delegation to the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. The President and First Lady want to show the highest level of support for our Olympic athletes and the Games, while following strict protocols and precautions set by the White House COVID team, the government of Japan, and the Olympics to keep the public, athletes and the delegation safe. As part of her travels, she will also visit Alaska and Hawaii where she will continue the Administration’s on-going efforts to encourage all Americans to get vaccinated against COVID-19, as well as honor the work and service of military families.
 

The guidance below is subject to change and reflects date and time estimates on the ground in Alaska, Japan, or Hawaii, respectively.  

 

Wednesday, July 21, 2021 ~  

Prior to the First Lady’s arrival in Tokyo, she will land at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska where she will greet with military and veteran families who are staying at Alaska Fisher House. She will then visit the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage and encourage all Alaskans to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
 

 

Thursday, July 22, 2021 ~  

On Thursday, July 22, the First Lady will land in Tokyo at Yokota Air Force Base where she will be greeted by the Foreign Minister and U.S. and Japanese base officials. After, she will have dinner with Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and Mrs. Mariko Suga at Akasaka Palace.
 

 

Friday, July 23, 2021 ~  

On Friday, July 23, Mrs. Suga will host the First Lady for a bilateral engagement at Akasaka Palace. The First Lady will later hold a virtual get-together with members of Team USA before greeting with Emperor Naruhito of Japan at the Imperial Palace. In the evening, she will attend the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium as head of the U.S. delegation.
 

 

Saturday, July 24, 2021 ~  

On Saturday, July 24, the First Lady will dedicate a room in the Chief of Mission Residence to Irene Hirano Inouye and Senator Daniel K. Inouye. She will then host a U.S. vs. Mexico Softball watch party with foreign service officers and their families at the U.S. Embassy. After, the First Lady will cheer on Team USA at various Olympic events before departing Tokyo.
 

 

Saturday, July 24 — Sunday, July 25, 2021 ~  

After Tokyo, the First Lady will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii where she will visit a vaccination clinic at a local high school before departing for Washington, D.C..
 

 

PRESIDENT JOSEPH ROBINETTE BIDEN, JR. ~ WEDNESDAY, JULY 21, 2021  

In the morning at 10:30 AM, President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. of the United States of America will receive the President’s Daily Brief at the White House Oval Officein Washington, DC, Wednesday, July 21, 2021.
 

In the afternoon at 2:25 PM, President Biden will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio from the White House South Lawn en route to Joint Base Andrews in Prince George's Maryland. Later in the day, Presdent Biden will arrive at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron, Kentucky at 4:10 PM.
 

Then at 5:40 PM, President Biden will visit the IBEW / NECA Electrical Training Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he will discuss how his Build Back Better agenda will create good-paying union jobs.
 

In the evening at 8:00 PM , President Biden will participate in a town hall hosted by CNN, where he will take questions directly from the American people about: 1) how his American Rescue Plan has spurred economic recovery, and 2) on how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework and Build Back Better agenda will create jobs and lower costs for working families. The town hall discussion will be convened at the Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
 

After the town hall discussion, President Biden will begin his return to the White House in Washington, D.C. at 10:00 PM from departs Hebron, Kentucky's Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport of Cincinnati, Ohio. President Biden will depart from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport en route to Joint Base Andrews in Prince George's County Maryland and later travel en route to the White House at 11:15 PM.
 

After a productive day, President Biden will arrive at the White House South Lawn in Washington, D.C. U.S.A. at 11:35 PM
 

 

VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA DEVI HARRIS ~ WEDNESDAY, JULY 21, 2021  

At 2:45 PM EDT, Vice President Kamala Devi Harris of the United States of America will meet with poll workers and other election officials to hear directly from them about their experiences helping voters cast their ballot and have their ballots counted on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.
