President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. will attend and present remarks at the opening plenary of the Ninth Summit of the Americas.
President Biden and the First Lady will welcome heads of state and government and their spouses for a dinner as part of the Ninth Summit of the Americas.
VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA DEVI HARRIS ~ THURSDAY, JUNE 9, 2022
In the afternoon, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Devi Harris will meet with leaders of Caribbean nations. This meeting will focus on deepening the U.S.-Caribbean partnership, building on Vice President Harris’s April 29 virtual meeting with Caribbean leaders. They will launch a new partnership, which Vice President Harris is leading, to address the climate crisis.
At 2:00 PM PDT, President Biden and the Vice President Harris will attend the opening plenary session at the Ninth Summit of the Americas. This session will be convened at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
SECOND GENTLEMAN DOUGLAS EMHOFF ~ THURSDAY, JUNE 9, 2022
At 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET, Mr. Emhoff, U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman, NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, and NEH Chair Shelly Lowe will visit the Wilshire Ebell Theatre, a recipient of the SBA’s Shuttered Venues Operators Grant. They will hear a performance from a vocal ensemble and participate in a roundtable to hear from representatives of the arts community to hear how small businesses and local venues are recovering from the pandemic.
At 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET, Mr. Emhoff will attend and deliver remarks at the Summit of the Americas Ministers Reception at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
