FIRST LADY KAMALA DEVI HARRIS ~ FEBRUARY 24-26, 2023
Following her visit to Namibia this week, First Lady Jill Biden travels to Kenya from Friday, February 24th to Sunday, February 26th to strengthen the United States’ bilateral partnership, and advance our shared priorities in the region. Dr. Biden’s engagements will focus on empowering women and youth, addressing food insecurity, and promoting our shared democratic values. The visit follows the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit late last year where Dr. Biden hosted a two-day spousal program. This will be Dr. Biden’s sixth visit to Africa and third visit to Kenya.

In the morning, the First Lady delivers keynote remarks to students in Namibia on the role of young people in shaping the future and strengthening democracy.
In the afternoon, the First Lady departs Windhoek, Namibia for Nairobi, Kenya. This departure will be covered by the traveling pool.
In the evening, the First Lady arrives in Nairobi, Kenya. First Lady of the Republic of Kenya Rachel Ruto will greet Dr. Biden.
Afterwards, the First Lady meets with First Lady of the Republic of Kenya Rachel Ruto.
Later in the evening, the First Lady participates in a women's empowerment reception with U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman.

In the morning, the First Lady engages in an entrepreneurship and sustainability event with a local company connecting tractor owners and farmers to highlight how young entrepreneurs are transforming agricultural practices in Kenya through technology, and improving livelihoods and food security.
Afterwards, the First Lady joins First Lady Ruto meets with local women as part of Mrs. Ruto’s Joyful Women initiative that promotes women's economic empowerment and financial inclusion.
Later in the day, the First Lady attends a Shujaaz Konnect Festival, a local youth empowerment event in Nairobi, presented in collaboration with The MTV Staying Alive Foundation and spotlighting the U.S. government’s support through the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
