MUNICH, GERMANY - Prior to Feb 15, 2025, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine talked to President Donald J. Trump. In response to President Trump's request for half of Ukraine's Rare Earth Mineral Resources for more US Resources and Aid to Ukraine, President Zelenskyy encouraged Europe's nation-states to form its own army.

Based on US Vice President Vance's remarks at the Munich Security Conference it seems unlikely that President Trump will sign an agreement releasing aid to Ukraine without receiving a percentage of Ukraine's rare earth mineral resources. President Trump wants 50% of the rare earth mineral resources geographically located in Ukraine in exchange for more US military resources and aid. President Zelenskyy has not agreed.

After Zelenskyy's phone call with President Trump about Russia's war against Ukraine, Zelenskyy remarks at the Munich Security Conference were focused on reasons why Europe nation-states must unify and establish a European military, because more urgent concrete steps are needed.

In May 2025, President Trump and President Putin will meet, President Zelenskyy said. Without the participation of Ukraine's leaders, discussions by the two Presidents will likely include the future geo-political status of Ukraine. Looks like the President of both Russia and the US want the rare earth mineral resources of Ukraine.

US President Trump and Russian President Putin have placed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a dilemma. A situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between two, three or more alternatives, which are equally undesirable ones.

The people of Ukraine have faced the dilemma with great resolve. Ukraine is a sovereign nation-state that is bravely fighting for its geo-political independence.
