Trump's Decision On Birthright Citizenship

Targeting the Constitution's guarantee of birthright citizenship serves to uphold principles that will limit who qualifies for automatic citizenship.
Despite a recent Supreme Court ruling upholding the principle, announcing a pair of executive orders limiting who qualifies for automatic citizenship and cracking down on so-called "birth tourism."
The Trump Administration define visiting adults and children as "alien enemies of the United States, members of foreign terrorist organizations and large categories of people who lobby an act on behalf of foreign governments."
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller told reporters in the White House Oval Office; that the second Executive order seeks to deny visas to individuals engaged in "birth tourism."

The order mandates the production of tax returns, financial statements, and ownership records for approximately 400 entities associated with the trust.
The Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust is currently obligated to comply with the federal court order until further notice.
The BBC seeks the records because Trump alleges its 2024 documentary damaged his “brand, properties and businesses,” putting his claims of financial harm at issue.
In contrast, Trump is seeking to recast the $10 billion lawsuit around personal reputational harm, which could narrow discovery.
His legal team argues that the request for financial information is overly broad and burdensome.
