The White House COVID-19 Response Team and Federal Public Health Officials provided updates on the COVID-19 response effort.

* Jeff Zients, White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator
PRESIDENT JOSEPH ROBINETTE BIDEN, JR. ~ MONDAY, AUGUST 2, 2021
In the morning at 10:00 AM ET, President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. of the United States of America will receive the President’s Daily Brief at Camp David, U.S.A. on Monday, August 2, 2021.
In the afternoon, President Biden will return to the White House in Washington DC from Camp David. President Biden will arrive at the White House South Lawn at 12:30 PM.
Later at 1:15 PM, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of the United States of America will receive a briefing from members of the White House COVID-19 Response Team on the COVID-19 pandemic and the injecion program at the White House Oval Office.
In the evening, President Biden will present remarks at a virtual fundraising reception for the Democratic National Committee from the Executive Residence at 6:45 PM.

Later at 1:15 PM, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of the United States of America will receive a briefing from members of the White House COVID-19 Response Team on the COVID-19 pandemic and the injecion program at the White House Oval Office.

FIRST LADY DR. JILL BIDEN ~ MONDAY 2, 2021
Under Secretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland will visit South Africa, Botswana, Tanzania and Niger from July 31, 2021 to August 6, 2021
In South Africa, she will meet with senior South African officials and co-chair the working group on African and global issues to promote common priorities. She will attend the reception of the US donation of 5.66 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to South Africa and meet with civil society leaders and business leaders.
In Botswana, the Under-Secretary will meet with President Mokgweetsi Masisi to work towards our partnership for democracy, the climate crisis, economic prosperity and security in southern Africa.
In Tanzania, the Undersecretary will meet with President Samia Suluhu Hassan and participate in a roundtable with opposition leaders. Its discussions will focus on strengthening democracy, tackling COVID-19, and promoting security and prosperity.
In Niger, the Under-Secretary will meet with President Mohamed Bazoum to discuss ways to improve security in the Sahel, strengthen governance and promote inclusive economic growth.
